Standard Format

Overview: Standard is Magic’s primary tournament format. It is comprised of the most recent editions of Magic: the Gathering, those printed in approximately the last 18 months. The latest three blocks, each consisting of two related sets, make up this competitive card pool. Newer sets rotate into Standard when they are released, pushing the oldest out when they arrive. Standard is a constructed format; meaning that decks playing in Standard tournaments contain 60 maindeck cards, as well as a 15 card sideboard.
