Overview:	The eighth Magic expansion, Alliances, continued several themes introduced in its predecessor, Ice Age. In addition to the mechanics "cantrips," and "pitch" spells, Alliances also introduced the alternate casting cost mechanic. This popular 199-card expansion was the last to use alternate art cards.
